Aseem XI defeats Majestic Sports Club Bandipora
Hajjn: The Women Cricket Friendship League, organized by the Indian Army in collaboration with the Aseem Foundation, has brought the game of cricket to a new level, as women cricketers in north Kashmir displayed their talent in these three matches of the friendship league.
As part of Kargil Vijay Diwas Rajat Jayanti Mahotsav, the Women Cricket Friendly League concluded on Thursday with the visiting team marking the winning spirit.
The third match of the friendship league was played between Aseem Eleven and Majestic Sports Club Bandipora at AGS Hajin, in which the visiting team scored a huge margin of victory.
In a keenly contested match, Aseem XI were put to bat first, and they set up a target of 105 runs. Aseem Foundation Pune emerged victorious by 44 runs. The sporting spirit and support displayed by the spectators is testimony to the rich culture and encouragement given to women in sports across Kashmir.
This unique endeavor has sent a strong signal of ‘Women Empowerment’ for women cricketers in the UT of Jammu and Kashmir who showcased their talent and standards to all.
Players and locals hailed the efforts of the Indian Army and Aseem Foundation, Pune, and urged them to organize similar tournaments in the future as well, as such tournaments would encourage the local players and help them to compete at the national level.
The chief guests for the event were Imtiyaz Parray and DDC Member Naza Begum.
The organizers, participating teams, and spectators paid their heartfelt tribute to the brave heroes of the Kargil War.
The event was attended by CO 13RR, government officials, and a large number of youth and locals from the adjoining areas.
