Police starts inquest proceedings, lodges FIR under Section 302

SRINAGAR, Oct 17: The police has started inquest proceedings into an alleged murder case of a woman whose body was recovered in Bemina area of central Kashmir’s Srinagar district on Tuesday morning.
Sources in the Police said that it has lodged FIR number 101 of 2023 under section 302 of IPC at police station Bemina.
The police has started inquest proceedings with the questioning if the husband of the deceased woman who was called to the police station.
Pertinently , the body of the woman identified as Tanveera wife of Showkat Ahmad Kaloo, of Nundresh Colony, Bemina was found in mysterious conditions in Durbal area by some locals early in the morning.
Eye witnesses had informed the police who reached to the spot and took the body into custody.
The body was taken to the hospital where the doctors performed post-mortem of the deceased.
Sources in the hospital said that the body has been handed over to the family after medico-legal formalities.
