Fraudulent Woman Pretending to be an IAS Officer Arrested in Budgam ; Police

Budgam, Oct 19 : Budgam Police has arrested a woman on charges of impersonating an IAS officer and attempting to extort money from a local family.

An official told News Agency Kashmir Scroll that the incident took place in Alipora, when the accused, identified as Ayush Ganjo, visited the residence of Gh Hassan Malik and deceitfully claimed that she could secure government jobs for the family’s children in exchange for a substantial amount of money. However, the Budgam Police Station acted promptly and registered a case under FIR No. 302/23.

The officer said that the accused is charged under Sections 419 and 420 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Meanwhile, The general public have appreciated Budgam Police’s swift response.

Pertinently, similar cases in the past have been reported in parts of Kashmir where women posing as police officers and IAS officers have attempted to loot people.
