Srinagar, Oct 24 : Omar Abdullah, the former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir and National Conference vice-president, has expressed his views on the Israel-Hamas conflict, specifically focusing on the need for increased humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza.
Omar Abdullah taking to media in the sidelines of a function in summer capital city Srinagar as per News Agency Kashmir Scroll voiced his concern over the loss of innocent lives during the ongoing conflict and emphasized the importance of addressing the disparity in international response when comparing the actions of Russia in Ukraine and Israel in Gaza.
Abdullah as per news agency Kashmir Scroll highlighted the need for consistency and fairness in how these actions are perceived and questioned why Russia’s actions in Ukraine were widely considered a war crime, while Israel’s actions in Gaza seemed to be more readily accepted. He called upon the global community to unite and collectively determine what is morally right in this complex situation.
By urging for an increase in humanitarian aid to Gaza, Abdullah recognizes the dire circumstances faced by the people living in the region affected by the conflict. The provision of humanitarian aid can help alleviate the suffering of innocent civilians and contribute to meeting their basic needs, such as food, water, medical assistance, and shelter.(KS)
