Srinagar, Nov. 6: As the summer season gives way to October, the charming allure of autumn leaves heralds a surge in tourist activity in Kashmir.

Among the myriad attractions, one cannot miss the magnificent Chinese trees, which have become a must-visit for travelers, especially newlyweds, travel enthusiasts, and filmmakers.

Captivated by the essence of the fall season in Kashmir, many travelers find solace and self-discovery amidst the Chinese trees that dot the landscape.

Peerzada Waseem, a cinematographer based in Srinagar, in conversation with Kashmir Despatch, attests to the popularity of these trees among tourists and locals alike. Having captured breathtaking shots for his clients in various Chinar locations across Kashmir, he expresses how the falling leaves of Chinar hold immense appeal.

Waseem further shares that Chinese trees have become the go-to destinations for couples seeking pre-wedding shots.

Junaid Bhat, another cinematographer, has informed Kashmir Despatch that this season is considered one of the best among all seasons in Kashmir.

Junaid shares that he is currently receiving bookings from younger age groups who are incredibly passionate about creating reels, videos, and capturing moments through photography.

He further mentions that the love for this extraordinary season is not limited to the younger generation alone, as older individuals have also shown a remarkable interest by reserving slots for their shoots.

Junaid expresses his joy in being able to immerse himself in the enchanting beauty of this season through the captivating lens of his camera.

Bilal Dar, another cinematographer based in Sopore, while taking to Kashmir Despatch, highlights the bustling demand for drone shots amidst the golden hues of Chinese trees.

He said that as the wedding season unfolds in Kashmir, capturing these moments beneath the majestic Chinar becomes an irresistible choice for couples and filmmakers alike.

Even filmmakers from distant places find themselves drawn to Kashmir’s autumn charm.

Sandeep, a filmmaker based in Pune, informed this reporter over the phone about his plans to shoot his upcoming project amidst the enchanting Chinese trees. He acknowledges the unmatched beauty and outstanding outcome that the yellow-golden foliage of autumn creates.

For filmmakers like Sandeep, Kashmir’s autumn season offers the perfect backdrop for their artistic endeavors.

Not limited to filmmakers, local artists also express their love for autumn in Kashmir.

Saika Jan, a female artist, said that she eagerly awaits this season to capture reels, videos, and picturesque scenes at various locations throughout Kashmir. The allure of autumn’s vibrant colors inspires me to pursue creative pursuits and adds to the craze for photography and videography that has swept the region, she said.

Apart from the allure of Chinese trees, the autumn season in Kashmir boasts other captivating locations that attract visitors.

Nishat Bagh, one of the largest Mughal gardens in Srinagar, stands out as a must-visit destination. Its stunning design and breathtaking beauty, adorned with a rich display of red, yellow, and orange leaves, create a mesmerizing experience for visitors.

The Botanical Garden in Kokernag entices tourists with its elegant charm and abundant collection of vibrant flowers. Surrounded by tall pine trees, this garden offers a serene atmosphere where visitors can immerse themselves in nature’s splendor. Situated at an altitude of 6627 feet above sea level, it becomes an ideal spot to explore during the autumn season in Jammu and Kashmir.

The autumn season in Kashmir, spanning from September to November, showcases the region’s natural beauty at its finest. With temperatures ranging from 9°C to 20°C, visitors can relish the cool, refreshing breeze while reveling in the kaleidoscope of golden and reddish hues adorning the trees.
