Krishi Vigyan Kendra/Extension Training Centra Pulwama organized a Mega awareness-cum-seed distribution programme jointly with AICRP on Seeds, DARS- Budgam, (under Tribal Sub plan) and NSP Shalimar (under HADP project- Development of Fodder resources for UT of J&K) at KVK campus Malangpora today on 7th November 2023.
The programme witnessed a large gathering of farmers/farm women from different villages viz, Koil, Malangpora, Tokuna, tribal villages of Sangerwani, and Laam Tral.
Prof. & Head KVK/ETC Malangpora, Dr. Javeed Ahmad Mugloo, while speaking on the occasion emphasized on the impact of these programmes on the agricultural upliftment in the district. Prof. Asif Shikari, PI of the Project gave a brief introduction of the HADP project “Development of Fodder resources for UT of J&K” and its importance in mitigation of fodder shortage especially in harsh winters and stressed on taking full advantage of these HADP Schemes.
Several other experts from DARS Budgam (Prof Sher A Dar, Prof. Noor ul Saleem Khuroo, Prof. Aijaz Ahmad), Scientists from NSP Unit Shalimar and KVK Pulwama deliberated on different topics focusing on increasing the income by adapting scientific practices of fodder production.
During this day long programme, 25 quintals of oats seed, field pea, and essential farm implements were distributed to more than 150 farmers of the district free of cost.
The farmers were highly satisfied and have appreciated these joint initiative of the KVK/ETC Malangpora, NSP Shalimar and DARS Budgam. The programme was concluded with vote of thanks by Dr. Abdul Rouf, Scientist FST.
