J&K Government Appoints Engineers for Temporary Roles in Public Works Department

Srinagar, 10 November : The Government of Jammu and Kashmir, through Government Order No: 460-PW(R&B) of 2023, has announced a temporary reshuffling of responsibilities within the Public Works (R&B) Department.

According to the order, Nisar Ahmad Pandith, currently serving as Superintending Engineer in R&B Circle Pulwama-Shopian, will assume the additional charge of Chief Engineer, R&B South Kashmir.
Similarly, Er. Sajad Ahmad Naqeeb, Superintending Engineer in R&B Circle, Srinagar South, will take on the role of Chief Engineer, R&B Central Kashmir.

Additionally, Er. Firdous Ahmed Kushkhan, currently Superintending Engineer in R&B Circle, Bandipora, will hold the charge of Chief Engineer, R&B North Kashmir.

The reshuffling is described as a temporary measure to address administrative exigencies and enhance the smooth functioning of the department and public services. The incumbents will perform these additional duties until regular arrangements are made by the government.

It is crucial to note that this temporary assignment does not confer any future service benefits, regularisation, seniority, or waiver of disciplinary actions to the appointed individuals. The government emphasizes that this order will be deemed inoperative if it contradicts any court order of which the government is not currently aware.

The order was issued by Shailendra Kumar, IAS, Principal Secretary to the Government, Public Works (R&B) Department, on November 10, 2023, and is numbered No: PWD-HRM1/174/2023-05.
