Meet Sopore’s Successful Entrepreneur

Sopore, December 7: Shaheena, a resident of Sopore town in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, has made a remarkable journey from being a job seeker to becoming a job provider in just a year. Leaving her job behind, she set up her own dairy unit and has achieved great success as an entrepreneur.
In an interview with Kashmir Despatch, Shaheena encourages others sitting at home to explore the different schemes available for budding entrepreneurs who want to start their own businesses. She emphasizes the benefits provided by these schemes and shares her own positive experience.
Shaheena credits Animal Husbandry for their support and the Integrated Dairy Development Scheme (IDDS), which she discovered after completing her Master’s degree in Physiology and BeD in 2020.
She said, “I applied for a dairy unit in 2021, and within a year, not only did I receive great benefits, but my life took a complete turn from being a job seeker to being a job provider with great financial benefit from this scheme.”
She further added, “I was working in a private institution; now I decided to leave the job because I started earning a good amount from my dairy unit. Today, I proudly call myself a giver rather than a job seeker, as I have an employee working at my dairy unit.”
Shaheena urges people to take advantage of the profitable nature of this business and encourages them to come forward and grab similar opportunities to help the community.
It is clear that women in Kashmir, like Shaheena, are breaking barriers and achieving remarkable success in various fields, proving that they are capable of reaching great heights.
