Prof. Arifa Bushra Is New Dean of KU’s School of Arts, Languages and Literatures

Srinagar 30 Dec : Prof. Arifa Bushra has more than 25 years of teaching, research and administrative experience and has held various important academic and administrative positions in the university. She is presently heading the Department of Urdu, University of Kashmir and has the distinction of being the first female Head of the Department, Urdu, Kashmir University.

Specializing in Poetry and Criticism, Prof. Arifa Bushra has several research papers, articles and publications to her credit which have been published in national and international journals of repute. She has eight published books to her credit as literary contributions.

Prof. Arifa Bushra has also actively served the Kashmir University’s corporate life as Executive Member Kashmir University Teachers Association, Monitoring Incharge, Kashmir University Guest Houses, Nodal Oficer, DIQA and Coordinator, Maulana Azad National Urdu University,

Prof. Arifa Bushra has attended a number of advanced courses/workshops/ seminars in various universities and has guided several Ph.D and M.Phil scholars. She has received awards and recognition from many reputed institutions.

She has been on the editorial board of various reputed journals and the editor of the departmental journal “Bazyaft”. She holds memberships in many reputed journals, committees and academic Boards. She has also contributed as Content Expert in significant Research Projects sponsored by Ministry of Human Resource Development.
