JAMMU: Apni Party President, Syed Mohammed Altaf Bukhari has grieved over the loss of ten lives, mostly non-local labourers’, in a tragic road accident near Battery Chashma in Ramban District on Jammu-Srinagar Highway.
“I extend my heartfelt condolences to the family members, who have lost their loved ones, in the road mishap when a passenger vehicle plunged into a gorge near Battery Chashma while travelling towards Srinagar,” said Altaf Bukhari in his condolence message.
He demanded immediate eviction of the injured persons in the road accident site, and free of cost medical treatment to the injured persons.
“The administration should release the compensation in favour of the next of kins of the deceased persons,” he said while extending solidarity on behalf of the Party leaders.
Meanwhile, Vice President of the Party, and Former Minister, Aijaz Ahmed Khan has also expressed shock over the road accident and demanded airlifting of the critically injured persons to the hospitals in Jammu and Srinagar.
He demanded that the administration should order a probe into the road mishap which has consumed ten lives.
Whereas, the General Secretary of the Party, Syed Asgar Ali also expressed his condolences.
He said that the widening work is in progress on the Jammu-Srinagar Highway. However, the road safety measures should not be compromised and in this case, the administration must ensure the commuters / truckers should get a safe road towards Kashmir or towards Jammu, while passing through the Ramban District.
Besides, the Provincial President of the Party, Jammu, S. Manjit Singh has expressed his sympathy with the victims of the road accident while asking the Govt to investigate the causes of the road accident.The District President, Ramban, Kirpal Singh and other office bearers of the District Committee have also extended their sympathy with the bereaved family members and demanded adequate compensation in favour of the deceased person’s kins.
