Says new circular to be issued after Eid

KD Correspondent

Srinagar: The Education authorities in Kashmir have confirmed that there will be no change in school timings for now. However, they have stated that a new circular regarding the timings will be issued after Eid-ul-Fitr.

A senior education officer, speaking to Kashmir Despatch, stated that the Director of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) made the decision to maintain the current school timings, considering the prevailing weather conditions in the region. It was also emphasized that the decision is temporary and subject to change after the Eid festival.

The previous timing for schools falling under the Municipal limits of Srinagar district is from 10 am to 3 pm, while the timing for schools outside the municipal limits of Srinagar, other districts, and areas of the Kashmir province has been fixed at 10:30 am to 3:30 pm.

Pertinently, Kashmir Despatch received numerous calls from concerned individuals across various parts of Kashmir seeking clarification on the alleged change in school timings.
