New Delhi , Sep 25: Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, actively participated in the “Swachhta Hi Seva, 2024” campaign at Soochna Bhawan, reinforcing the government’s commitment to cleanliness and environmental sustainability. The event, organized by the Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), saw widespread participation from ministry officials and employees.
Shri Vaishnaw administered a pledge to the staff, urging them to adopt cleanliness and sustainable practices in their daily lives and workspaces. He emphasized that maintaining cleanliness is not just a task but a responsibility every citizen should embrace.
As part of the event, the minister also led a sapling plantation drive under the ‘Ek Ped Maa ke Naam’ initiative, inspired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s call for environmental conservation. The initiative symbolizes the connection between nature and nurturing the earth, with Shri Vaishnaw personally planting a sapling and distributing others to the ministry employees. He highlighted the importance of individual contributions in keeping the environment clean and sustainable.
Shri Vaishnaw was joined by Minister of State, Shri L Murugan, Secretary Shri Sanjay Jaju, and the Chairperson of the Press Council of India, along with numerous officials from the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. The event concluded with a strong message: community service and individual responsibility are vital for fostering a cleaner, greener India.
