Bandipora, Sep 30: Ahead of the final phase of the assembly elections, the police in north Kashmir’s Bandipora said that the situation in the district is peaceful.
Talking to Kashmir Despatch, SSP Bandipora Harmeet Singh said that the situation in the district is peaceful. He said that all the security arrangements have been finalized, and we are hopeful for peaceful elections in the district.
He said that everything has been set in place for the peaceful and successful last phase of the assembly elections in Bandipora district.
Bandipora constituency has a total of 1,16,326 voters, including 59,483 males, 56,841 females, and 2 transgender electors.
Meanwhile, As per ground survey done by Kashmir Despatch Bandipora constituency is likely to witness a neck-to-neck fight between old rivals, the two-time MLA Usman Majid and former MLA Nizamuddin Bhat, on October 1.
In the race, the other key figures include former NC MLA, Naz’s daughter-in-law, Dr. Bilquees, Journalist-turned-politician Syed Tajamul Islam, and Jamaat-backed Muhammad Hafiz Sikander Malik.
Pertinently, more than 39.18 lakh voters are eligible to exercise their electoral franchise during the last Phase-III of the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly Election to be held on 01st October 2024 across the 40 Assembly Constituencies (ACs) in 7 districts of the Union Territory.
In Kashmir Division, 16 Assembly Constituencies, including Karnah, Tregham, Kupwara, Lolab, Handwara, Langate, Sopore, Rafiabad, Uri, Baramulla, Gulmarg, Wagoora-Kreeri, Pattan, Sonawari, Bandipora, and Gurez (ST), and in Jammu Division, 24 Assembly Constituencies, comprising Udhampur west, Udhampur east, Chenni, Ramnagar (SC), Bani, Billawar, Basohli, Jasrota, Kathua (SC), Hiranagar, Ramgarh (SC), Samba, Vijaypur, Bishnah (SC), Suchetgarh (SC), R.S Pura, Jammu South, Bahu, Jammu East, Nagrota, Jammu West, Jammu North, Akhnoor (SC), and Chhamb, will also go to the polls in this phase.
