Hezbollah launched a missile attack on an Israeli military base near Haifa on Sunday evening, causing casualties, according to a statement from the group. The attack was described as a retaliation for Israeli operations targeting civilians in Lebanon. Hezbollah fired a salvo of ‘Fadi 1’ missiles at Carmel Base, located south of Haifa.
The Israeli military responded by activating air defense systems, with some of the projectiles being intercepted. However, several rockets managed to hit Haifa and Tiberias, causing injuries. Israeli emergency services confirmed that at least one person was injured in Tiberias due to the rocket strikes, while eight others were evacuated to Rambam Health Care Campus in Haifa for treatment.
The attack comes amid heightened tensions, as the Israeli army has been conducting intense operations against Hezbollah in Lebanon since September 23. This marks a significant escalation in the conflict, with both sides engaging in cross-border attacks.
