SRINAGAR, Oct 9: National Conference Provincial President Nasir Aslam Wani on Wednesday said that discussions regarding the formation of the new Jammu and Kashmir government will conclude within the next few days, following meetings with both the legislature party and alliance partners.
“We have a meeting of our legislature party tomorrow, and after that, we will sit with our alliance partners. All these formalities will be completed in the next few days,” Wani said, while speaking to the media at FarooqAbdullah’s residence.
When asked about the power-sharing formula, he said that these things take time, not everything happens in a hurry. It will be finalized in the next few days, he said.
Replying a query that people of Jammu gave one-sided mandate, Nasir said that NC also have secured several seats and will ensure that Jammu gets adequate representation in the new government. “We will try to give a good representation of Jammu in the government,” he said.
On being asked that potential independent candidates are joining the government, Nasir said that some independent candidates have approached the party, signaling a wider coalition in the making.(KNS)
