Srinagar 10 Oct. 2024 : The South Asia Centre for Peace and Peoples Empowerment (SACPPE) hosted a well-organized event on October 10, 2024, at Ghanta Ghar, Lalchowk, Srinagar, in honor of International Mental Health Day. The gathering saw significant participation from the community, highlighting the importance of mental well-being.

The event featured the distribution of Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials, along with counseling sessions aimed at raising awareness about mental health and its connection to substance abuse. Participants engaged actively, fostering an atmosphere of support and understanding.

SACPPE’s initiative was crucial in breaking the stigma surrounding mental health issues, contributing to a healthier society. The organization expressed gratitude for the overwhelming turnout and emphasized the ongoing need for community involvement in mental health advocacy.

SSP Mubashir Bukhari, SP East City, was the chief guest at the event, where he commended the SACPPE team for their efforts. He emphasized the importance of mental health awareness and distributed IEC materials to road users, encouraging community engagement in the initiative.
