A groundbreaking Lok Adalat focused on Motor Accident Claims Tribunal (MACT) and matrimonial cases took place in Bandipora, marking a significant advancement in making justice accessible and efficient for all citizens.
This event, organized by the J&K Legal Services Authority, showcased the collaboration of legal professionals, judges, and community members working together to resolve pending cases through a streamlined and amicable process.
Under the capable leadership of Mr. Khalil Ahmad Choudhary, Chairman of the District Legal Services Authority (Pr. District & Sessions Judge) Bandipora, and guided by Mr. Iqbal Ahmad Akhoon, Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority, a total of three benches were established for this important initiative.
The benches were composed of experienced legal professionals:
- First Bench: Mr. Khalil Ahmad Choudhary and Mr. Susheel Singh (Additional District & Sessions Judge).
- Second Bench: Mr. Iqbal Ahmad Akhoon and Adv. Reyaz Ahmad Shah.
- Third Bench: Ms. Rahila Rashid (Chairman TLSC, Munsiff/JMIC) Sumbal and Adv. Gh Mohammad Bhat.
In this session, the benches diligently addressed a total of 53 cases, successfully settling 15 cases amicably. Importantly, a total sum of ₹300,000 was awarded to the aggrieved parties as a result of the settlements reached during this Lok Adalat.
This initiative not only signifies a great leap towards ensuring speedy justice but also strengthens the community’s trust in the legal system.
