Srinagar, Oct 22 : Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Tuesday visited the family of Dr. Shahnawaz in Nayidgam, Budgam, who was tragically killed in a militant attack on Sunday evening in Gagangeer area of Ganderbal district.
Omar Abdullah expressed sympathies with the family members in this hour of grief.
Dr. Shahnawaz, along with six other workers, was shot dead at a tunnel construction site on the Srinagar-Leh national highway.
Dr. Shahnawaz, a respected community figure, leaves behind his wife, two sons, and a daughter.
He had been posted at the construction site by APCO Infratech, the infrastructure company where he worked.
The incident has deeply shaken the Budgam community, with large numbers of mourners gathering at Dr. Shahnawaz’s home to pay their respects.
