Ganderbal, Oct 29: Wildlife authorities in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district claimed to have captured a black bear on Tuesday.
Official sources told Kashmir Despatch, the bear had entered the Gutlibagh area a few days prior, causing considerable alarm among local residents.
Upon receiving reports about the bear, a team from the wildlife department, along with the control room, promptly arrived in the area. After concerted efforts, with the assistance of local residents, the wild animal was captured alive.
Shabir Ahmad, In-charge of the Wildlife Control Room in Ganderbal, informed Kashmir Despatch that the bear was tranquilized before being captured. “The bear was later released into Dachigam National Park,” he added.
