SRINAGAR, Nov 7: The Jammu and Kashmir Government on Thursday order a minor reshuffle in the administration, transferring four Junior Scale Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Service (JKAS) officers to roles within the Chief Minister’s Secretariat. These transfers, effective immediately, aim to strengthen administrative operations at the Secretariat by placing experienced personnel in key support positions.
Mr. Kashif Altaf Bhat
Mr. Kashif Altaf Bhat currently serving as Under Secretary to the Government in the Housing and Urban Development Department has been reassigned as Under Secretary in the Chief Minister’s Secretariat. A 2015 batch JKAS officer, Mr. Bhat brings a diverse background to his new role, having previously worked in the Services Selection Board, the Social Welfare Department, and the Industries and Commerce Department. His expertise across multiple departments is expected to enhance the Secretariat’s operations. Mr Bhat is known for his administrative acumen and has worked diligently during all his previous assignments in different departments.
Dr. Farukh Nasir Paul
Formerly positioned as Under Secretary to the Government, Labour & Employment Department, Dr. Paul is now appointed as Under Secretary (Media and Publicity) in the Chief Minister’s Secretariat. In his new role, Dr. Paul will focus on overseeing media relations and public information, which is critical to the government’s outreach and communication strategy.
Mr. Abhay Indu Sharma
Previously holding the role of Under Secretary within the J&K Services Selection Board, Mr. Sharma has been transferred to serve as Under Secretary in the Chief Minister’s Secretariat. His experience with the Services Selection Board will contribute to administrative efficiency in his new posting.
Mr. Imtiyaz Ahmad Lone
Mr. Lone, who was serving in the Revenue Department, has been reassigned as Under Secretary in the Chief Minister’s Secretariat. Known for his diligent work in revenue administration, Mr. Lone’s skills are anticipated to bolster the Secretariat’s functioning.
This reshuffling aligns with the Jammu and Kashmir Government’s ongoing efforts to ensure that skilled officers are strategically placed to support Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s policy initiatives and streamline departmental coordination within the Secretariat.
