Bandipora, Nov 08: The Kaloosa Football club in Bandipora has lifted the trophy of Shaheed Abdul Rasheed football tournament organized by 03 Bn of Central Reserve Police Force in Bandipora on Tuesday.
The tournament witnessed participation of 16 teams from different parts of the district who played on league round basis in the tournament.
On the final match Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Manzoor Ahmed Qadri was the chief guest on the occasion while Padmashree awardee Faisal Ali Dar and officials of 03 Bn CRPF were also present on the occasion.
The Kaloosa FC scored 4 goals while the runner up team scored 2 goals in both the halfs.
The winner team was awarded with a trophy, medals and Rs. 31000 cash prize while the runner up team was awarded with a cash prize of 21000 rupees, trophy and medals. The jerseys were also distributed to the winning team by CRPF.
The players thanked the CRPF for organizing the tournament and said these kinds of tournaments keep players out of drug menace and hoped more tournaments will be organized in future also.
“The tournament was aimed to engage youths in the sports activities, take them away from drugs. We are organizing this tournament in collaboration with the District football association Bandipora with the support of the central government. More such programmes will be organized in future also,” one of the officials from CRPF said.
