In a significant community outreach initiative, 41 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) organized a volleyball tournament in the village of Muhri, Kupwara between 10- 18 Nov bringing together local youth from surrounding areas. The tournament, which saw the participation of four teams, served as a platform for fostering sportsmanship, camaraderie, and inter-community unity.
The event, supported by the Indian Army, emphasized the importance of sports as a tool for peacebuilding. Local residents, including families and children, turned out in large numbers, showcasing the strong community engagement and enthusiasm for constructive activities. The event witnessed participation of 4 teams competing with each other, the final being played between Muhri and Nagsari teams with Nagsari emerging as winners after a match of 3 exuberating sets. The Army’s involvement in organizing such events highlights its role not only as a security force but as a positive, stabilizing presence in the region.
By providing opportunities for local youth to engage in healthy competition, the event helped strengthen trust between the Army and the local population, encouraging dialogue and cooperation. It also served to offer young people a constructive alternative to conflict, promoting values of unity and peaceful coexistence.
