MHA Elevates Advisor to LG as Chief Secretary in Ladakh

Srinagar, Feb 18: The Advisor to the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh has been re-designated as Chief Secretary, UT of Ladakh, following a directive from the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Government of India.

An per the official memorandum issued by the General Administration Department Ladakh, a copy of which lies with Rising Kashmir, the competent authority in the MHA has decided that the designation change will take place without any change in duties and responsibilities.

All future official communications should refer to the position as Chief Secretary, UT of Ladakh instead of Advisor to the Lieutenant Governor, it said.

All past orders, notifications, and office memorandums mentioning the previous designation will now also be considered to refer to the Chief Secretary, it added.
