Javed Dar assesses development landscape of Bandipora, e-inaugurates development projects

BANDIPORA, FEBRUARY 19: Minister for Agriculture Production, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Cooperative and Election departments, Javed Ahmad Dar, today reviewed the developmental landscape of Bandipora district in a meeting held at mini secretariat here.


The Minister was accompanied by DDC Chairman, Abdul Gani Bhat; MLA Bandipora, Nizam u din Bhat; MLA Gurez, Nazir Ahmad Khan and MLA Sonawari, Advocate Hilal Akbar Lone.


During the meeting, the Minister reviewed the developmental scenario of the district besides e-inaugurating a series of development projects in the district.


Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Manzoor Ahmad Qadri, briefed the meeting regarding various developmental parameters of the district. He apprised of the progress and status of various flagship programmes including JJM, MGNREGA and other programmes besides briefing regarding various district specific initiatives.


During the meeting, the legislators raised constituency specific issues and demands emphasizing for early redressal.


Speaking on the occasion, the Minister emphasized the importance of prioritising construction and maintenance of roads for enhanced development.


While reviewing implementation of government schemes, the Minister directed the officers to take public welfare initiatives to their doorsteps on priority basis. He also urged upon the public representatives to bring the issues of public importance into the notice of concerned authorities for prompt redressal. He directed the officers to conduct regular field tours to take appraisal of ground level issues.


On the occasion, the Minister also e- inaugurated various projects including hi-tech polygreen houses at Papchan, Nadihal and Bazipora established with a cost of Rs 21 lakh each, water supply scheme Chitteybandi worth Rs 255.99 lakh, water supply scheme Numberdar Pati worth Rs. 141.72 lakh and water supply scheme Gundpora Rampora costing Rs. 544.24 lakh.


Later, the Minister, while responding to the issues and grievances of public delegations, assured them of government’s commitment towards resolving their concerns in a time bound manner.


Among others, Director Horticulture; Director Sericulture; Director RDD; Director Animal Husbandry; Director Sheep Husbandry; Registrar Cooperative societies J&K; HODs and district officers of various departments were present on the occasion.
