BANIHAL, Feb 21: The mother-in-law of renowned ophthalmologist Dr. Sajad Khanday passed away on Friday following a brief illness. She breathed her last at her residence in Banihal, leaving behind a grief-stricken family, relatives, and a community mourning the loss of a respected figure.
The deceased was known for her warm and compassionate nature, and her passing has deeply saddened those who knew her. As per family sources, her Nimaz-e-Jinaza (funeral prayers) will be held on Saturday at 10 AM at Eidgah Banihal, where a large number of relatives, friends, and community members are expected to gather and offer their final prayers in her honor.
Dr. Sajad Khanday, a well-known name in the field of ophthalmology, has received an outpouring of condolences from members of the medical fraternity, well-wishers, and the general public. Various dignitaries and colleagues have expressed their sympathy, acknowledging the profound loss his family has suffered.
The bereaved family has urged everyone to pray for the departed soul’s eternal peace and requested privacy in this difficult time.
Meanwhile, Syed Basharat Bukhari, Editor-in-Chief of Kashmir Despatch, extended his heartfelt condolences to the grieving family. Expressing solidarity, Bukhari prayed for strength and endurance for Dr. Khanday and his family to cope with this irreparable loss.
