New Delhi, March 06, 2025: The new office of the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB) at the World Trade Center, Nauroji Nagar, New Delhi, was inaugurated today by Shri Hardeep Singh Puri, Hon’ble Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas, in the presence of Shri Pankaj Jain, Secretary of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, as well as members of PNGRB’s Board, senior officials, and industry stakeholders.
The new office will house multiple meeting rooms and a large conference room to facilitate interaction between the Board and the stakeholders. It is notable that the previous office was leased when the Board was constituted in the year 2007, and it had become insufficient to meet current requirements. The new office will also accommodate the National Hydrocarbon Infrastructure Management System (NHIMS). This center will receive real-time information on petroleum and natural gas transport across the country, as well as the real-time progress of pipeline projects authorized by the PNGRB.
The Hon’ble Minister commended PNGRB for its initiative in developing the National Hydrocarbons Infrastructure Monitoring System (NHIMS), which integrates various software technologies to collect real-time data from petroleum and natural gas companies. This system incorporates information on roads, railways, and water bodies, thereby enabling more strategic planning and efficient monitoring. Furthermore, the Hon’ble Minister underscored the importance of ensuring the autonomy of regulatory bodies to enhance coordination and optimize governance in the sector.
On this occasion, Dr. Anil Kumar Jain, Chairperson of PNGRB, reaffirmed PNGRB’s commitment to fostering a conducive environment that ensures a fair regulatory framework and promotes sustainable growth in the petroleum and natural gas sector.
