New Delhi, Mar 19: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh stated on Wednesday that Jammu and Kashmir has now been fully integrated with India following the abrogation of Article 370.
Speaking at an event in the national capital, Singh as per Kashmir Despatch emphasized that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government successfully revoked Article 370 without firing a single bullet.
He highlighted that Jammu and Kashmir has become an inseparable part of India after the repeal of the constitutional provision. Singh described the historic decision as a peaceful achievement, accomplished while safeguarding the security and interests of all stakeholders.
The Defence Minister asserted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has ensured the people of Jammu and Kashmir receive their long-overdue rights, which had been denied to them for decades, along with the benefits they rightfully deserve.
Earlier, Singh addressed concerns about potential unrest following the move, recalling that political parties like the Congress, National Conference, and PDP had strongly opposed the abrogation, warning of bloodshed in the region. He countered these claims, stating that the BJP prioritized J&K’s development and took the decisive step to integrate it fully into India.
Accusing opposition parties of misleading the public for vested interests, Singh expressed confidence in J&K’s progress: “Given the accelerated pace of development here, I firmly believe streams of water and milk—not blood—will flow in Jammu and Kashmir,” he declared.
