Commissioner SMC Inspects Dewatering Stations and Sewage Treatment Plants in Srinagar

Srinagar, March 20 – Today, Commissioner SMC, Dr. Owais Ahmed IAS, conducted a comprehensive inspection of dewatering stations and Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs) at various locations in Srinagar. Accompanied by senior officials from the Urban Environmental Engineering Department (UEED) and SMC, the inspection aimed to evaluate the operational capabilities and maintenance of these critical facilities.

During the visit, Dr. Owais assessed the functionality of several dewatering stations that play a crucial role in managing excess water and mitigating flood risks in urban areas. He examined the equipment, processes, and overall efficiency of these plants.

Highlighting the significance of these facilities, Dr. Owais stated, “Our dewatering stations and STPs are essential for effective urban management. By ensuring their optimal operation, we can significantly reduce the risk of waterlogging and pollution in our beautiful city.”

Throughout the inspection, Dr. Owais engaged with concerned officials, discussing the challenges they encounter and recognizing their contributions to the community. He emphasized the importance of continuous monitoring and improvements to enhance the performance of these essential services.
