Pattan, 24 March: A bike rider lost his life, while another sustained injuries in a road accident in the Khanpeth Singhpora area of Baramulla district in North Kashmir on Monday afternoon.
An official told Kashmir Despatch that the biker, identified as Qamar bin Hashim (son of Hashim, resident of Anderkoot), died on the spot. The pillion rider, Zeeshan Hussain Malla (son of Zafar Hussain Malla, resident of Shilvat), sustained injuries after a tipper truck (Reg. No. JK01L-0305) collided with their motorcycle (Reg. No. JK15A-2738) in Khanpeth Singhpora.
The official added that the injured was referred to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Pattan for treatment.
Meanwhile, Police have taken cognizance of the incident under relevant sections of the law and arrested the tipper driver involved in the accident.
