Srinagar, March 27: Inspector General of Police, Kashmir Zone, V.K. Birdi, chaired a joint security review meeting at PCR Kashmir to evaluate arrangements for Eid-ul-Fitr and Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY), KDC reported.
The meeting was attended by senior officers from J&K Police, intelligence agencies, and various security forces, including IG CRPF Srinagar Pawan Kumar Sharma, DIG CKR Rajiv Pandey, DIG CRPF KOS, DIG CRPF South/North, DIG BSF Srinagar, DIG ITBP, JD IB, SSP Srinagar, SSP Traffic City Srinagar, SSP CID CIK, SSP Security Kashmir, SSP SDRF, SSP APCR, Dy. Director Fire & Emergency, and all District SSsP from Kashmir Zone joined virtually.
With EidUlFitr2025 approaching, IGP Kashmir directed officers to ensure crowd control management, prevent overcrowding, and deploy personnel at strategic locations to maintain LawAndOrder. Security will be heightened at mosques, marketplaces, and key public places to safeguard PublicSafety.
Discussions also focused on the AmarnathYatra2025, emphasizing route security, logistical planning, and emergency response protocols to ensure a safe pilgrimage. SecurityAgencies were instructed to enhance vigilance, conduct random checks at sensitive locations, and increase security patrols.
JKPolice reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining security and ensuring a peaceful environment for both locals and pilgrims during these major events.
