KARGIL, DECEMBER 04: Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor (CEC) Kargil Feroz Ahmed Khan today underlined the significance of sports for physical and mental health of the youth.
He said that sports have the potential to foster unity among races, genders, linguistic groups and religions besides imbibing the values of team spirit, discipline, coordination and zest for achieving positive goals.
The CEC was addressing players on the concluding ceremony of the Two Day Horse Polo Tournament organized by District Police Kargil which concluded at Khree Sultan Chow Sports Stadium Kargil here today.
The CEC appreciated the efforts of District Police Kargil in organizing such events under Civic Action Programme (CAP) from time to time.
Feroz Khan expressed optimism that such events will go a long way in giving fillip to police public relation in the district and to encourage the participation of the local youth in sports.
Superintendent of Police Kargil Dr Vinod Kumar besides officers of the Civil and Police Administration and large number of spectators were present on the occasion.
Later the CEC distributed certificates, mementoes and prizes among the participating players.
Four teams from different parts of Kargil district participated in the tournament which was organized under Civic Action Programme (CAP)
