Pulwama, April 11 : Vice Chancellor of the Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST), Prof. Shakil Ahmad Romshoo, paid an important visit to Government Polytechnic College Pulwama (a Constituent College of IUST) today. The visit served as a source of inspiration and reaffirmed the University’s commitment to institutional growth and student welfare.
The Vice Chancellor was warmly received by the Principal, Er. Parvaiz Ahmad Rather,along with whole of teaching and supporting staff of this institution.
Er. Perwaiz Ahmad Rather, Principal welcomed him with a bouquet and briefed HVC Dr. Romshoo about the overall functioning of the diploma programmes and other associated trainings underway at the institute.
Accompanying the VC were Registrar Dr. Wahid, Finance Officer Mr. Sameer Wazeer, Director CiED Dr. Parvaiz Ahmad Mir, Deputy Registrar Dr. Iqbal Qurashi, Director Sports, Coordinator Polytechnic Dr. Junaid Mir, Dr. Basharat Ahmad Dar from CIED-IUST, Dr. Liyakat I/C KAST-IUST , DR. Sajad I/C AICTE labs and other dignitaries from IUST.
During an interactive session with the students, the Vice Chancellor assured them of several developmental initiatives aimed at enhancing the academic and infrastructural framework of the college. These included:
Establishment of a dedicated workshop block.
Enhancement of library facilities with a target of 8,000 books.
Development of a fully equipped playground.
Provision of free training courses through the C4i4/AICTE/Ideation Labs./KAST.
Strengthening of the Ideation Lab.
Implementation of faculty development programs.
Upgradation of the auditorium into a fully digital facility.
Prof. Romshoo also expressed satisfaction with the overall functioning of the polytechnic college specially appreciated the admission process during the previous academic session, as presented by Er. Tariq Ahmad Zargar, In-Charge Academics and Mechanical Engineering Department. His words of encouragement significantly boosted the morale of both students and faculty members.
Er. Umer Salam, In-Charge Civil Engineering Department, briefed the Hon’ble VC about the ongoing student projects and progress within the department.
The visit was highly appreciated and is expected to pave the way for continued development and academic excellence. Such engagements from the university leadership are vital for fostering a culture of innovation, growth, and excellence at the Polytechnic College.
