A Resounding Success as Job Seekers Turn Out in Droves
Self-Employment Programs and Loan Schemes Launched for Aspiring Entrepreneurs
Baramulla, 17 April : The Baramulla District Administration, in collaboration with the Indian Army’s Chinar Corps, organized a dynamic Job Fair at the Chinar YUVA Centre in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Thursday, drawing a significant turnout of aspiring job seekers.

The event was attended by senior officials, including the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Chinar Corps and the GOC of the Dagger Division, who commended the joint initiative and expressed satisfaction with its outcomes. Designed to bridge employment gaps, the fair connected local youth with representatives from 28 leading national and regional companies across diverse sectors such as IT, healthcare, banking, hospitality, retail, and manufacturing. Participating firms included PhonePe, Kia, SBI Life, Tata Winstron, ICICI Bank, Honda, PNB MetLife, Mahindra Motors, and LIC India.

Attendees benefited from on-the-spot interviews, personalized career counseling sessions, and skill development workshops aimed at enhancing employability. Additionally, the fair highlighted self-employment initiatives and government-backed loan schemes to support entrepreneurial ventures, further broadening opportunities for economic self-reliance.

Officials emphasized that the initiative reflects a sustained commitment to youth empowerment, job creation, and inclusive economic growth in the region. By fostering partnerships between civil administration, defense forces, and the private sector, the event underscored efforts to channel the potential of Kashmir’s youth into sustainable career pathways.
