In a strongly-worded press statement issued today, the Medical Faculty Forum of Government Medical College (GMC) Anantnag, Jammu and Kashmir, expressed profound grief, sorrow, and anguish over the tragic incident of terrorism that occurred in Pahalgam on April 22, 2025.
The Forum, representing all faculty members and staff of the institution, condemned the “cowardly attack on innocent civilians” in the strongest terms, calling it a heinous act that has no justification. “The Forum stands firmly with the families of the victims in this hour of grief and sorrow,” read the statement, issued by Dr. Showkat Hussain Tali, spokesperson of the Medical Faculty Forum (MMF).
The statement issued by Dr Showkat Hussain Tali, spokesperson MMF GMC Anantnag also emphasized the Forum’s readiness to offer any kind of help or assistance that may be required by the families of the deceased and the injured. It further extended prayers for the speedy recovery of those wounded in the attack.
Reiterating its long-standing position on terrorism, the Medical Faculty Forum asserted that terrorism has no religion and must be condemned in all its forms and manifestations.
The Pahalgam attack, which has shaken the entire region, has drawn widespread condemnation from all quarters. This latest statement by the medical fraternity adds to the growing chorus demanding justice and lasting peace in the region.
