‘Operation Sindoor’ : A Decisive Strike, Says Defence Minister Rajnath Singh in Srinagar Visit

Date:

LG Sinha terms it as a ‘Big Blow to Terrorism’

SRINAGAR, May 15: In a powerful message of national resolve and military prowess, Defence Minister Shri Rajnath Singh visited Srinagar today and interacted with the brave personnel of the Indian Armed Forces at Badami Bagh Cantonment and Srinagar Air Base. His visit comes in the wake of “Operation Sindoor,” a meticulously planned and executed military operation hailed as a historic turning point in India’s fight against terrorism.

During his visit, the Defence Minister lauded the armed forces for their exemplary courage and strategic acumen. He asserted that Pakistan will face even graver consequences if it continues to harbour and support terrorism. He also called for the supervision of Pakistan’s nuclear arsenal by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), stating that Pakistan’s nuclear blackmail will no longer be tolerated.

Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha, in a stirring tribute to the armed forces, described “Operation Sindoor” as a bold and focused strike that has reshaped India’s counter-terrorism strategy. “The nation is proud of our armed forces for scripting a historic victory saga of ‘Operation Sindoor’ with bravery and for avenging the Pahalgam terror attack,” he said.

LG Sinha revealed that the operation led to the destruction of nine major terror camps, targeted strikes on 11 Pakistani air bases, and the elimination of several high-profile terrorists. He emphasized that “Operation Sindoor” has not only neutralized key terror infrastructure within Pakistan but also set a new precedent by hunting down terrorists individually.

“This operation has changed the course of the fight against terror in one focused and measured hit. Our brave armed forces have destroyed terror factories within Pakistan, and now terrorists are being hunted one by one,” the Lieutenant Governor said, highlighting that six terrorists were neutralized in South Kashmir alone within a week of the operation.

LG Sinha asserted that terrorism in the Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory is not a homegrown phenomenon but one engineered and executed by Pakistan. He declared that henceforth, any future acts of terror will be treated as acts of war.

“Our mighty forces have ensured that we will now enter deep into Pakistan’s heartland to eliminate terrorists,” he said, adding, “Pakistan is a terrorist country, and we see no difference between it and the masterminds of terror it shelters.”

He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to peace, security, and prosperity in the region. “Our brave forces will continue to take action to ensure the safety of our citizens. The bravery of our soldiers in Operation Sindoor is now part of India’s great victory tradition,” he added.

The Defence Minister’s visit, coupled with the Lieutenant Governor’s strong remarks, sends a clear message of India’s unyielding stance against terrorism and its sponsors. “Operation Sindoor” stands as a decisive moment in India’s security history, signaling a bold shift in doctrine and a firm commitment to national sovereignty and peace.
