19 Judicial Officers In J&K Found Fit For Service Beyond 58, 55, And 50 Years

SRINAGAR, Jun 9: The High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh has cleared the continuation of several Judicial Officers beyond the prescribed age limits of 58, 55, and 50 years, deeming them fit and eligible to continue their judicial service.

An order issued by the Registrar General (Officiating) reads, the list includes 18 Judicial Officers who will attain the age of 58, 55, or 50 years during the year 2025. The order was issued in accordance with Rules 21 and 24 of the J&K Higher Judicial Service Rules, 2009.

Among those approved to serve beyond 58 years are Yash Pal Bourney, Ms. Jeema Bashir, Jawad Ahmad, Ms. Masarat Roohi, Ms. Kusum Lata Pandita, Abdul Nasir, Khurshid-ul-Islam, Ahsan-ullah Parvez Malik, and Sushil Singh. These officers will attain the age of 58 between April and November 2025.

The officers found fit to continue beyond 55 years include Ms. Rupali Ratta, Manjit Singh Manhas, Farooq Ahmad Bhat, Adnan Syed, and Abdul Qayoom Mir. Their birthdays fall between June and December 2025.

Four officers Haq Nawaz Zargar, Tasleem Arief, Dinesh Gupta, and Parvaiz Iqbal have been permitted to continue serving after attaining 50 years of age.

The order underscores the High Court’s continued assessment of judicial competence and fitness beyond certain age milestones. It has also been circulated to all concerned judicial authorities and departments for information and necessary action.

The development ensures continuity of experienced officers in the judicial system and reflects the court’s confidence in their capability and conduct.
