LG Sinha chairs high-level meet; stresses seamless security coordination

SRINAGAR, June 13:
Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Shri Manoj Sinha, chaired a high-level security review meeting on Thursday to ensure robust arrangements for the upcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra. The meeting brought together senior officials from the police, army, civil administration, and intelligence agencies to finalize security and logistical preparedness for the annual pilgrimage.

The Lieutenant Governor emphasized the importance of flawless coordination among all stakeholders—Civil Administration, Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board (SASB), J&K Police, Indian Army, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), and Intelligence Agencies—for the peaceful and successful conduct of the holy yatra.
He took a detailed assessment of the security grid and preparedness on the ground. Particular focus was given to deployment strategies, contingency planning, and rapid response mechanisms of all departments involved in the Yatra’s management.
The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo; DGP Nalin Prabhat; GoC 15 Corps Lt Gen Prashant Srivastava; Special DG PHQ S.J.M. Gillani; Joint Director IB Pankaj Thakur; ADGP CID Nitish Kumar; ADG CRPF Rajesh Kumar; CEO of SASB and Principal Secretary to LG, Dr. Mandeep K. Bhandari; Divisional Commissioners of Jammu and Kashmir, Ramesh Kumar and Vijay Kumar Bidhuri; IGPs VK Birdi and Bhim Sen Tuti; and other top officials from the Army, Police, CAPFs, and intelligence wings.
Dr. Bhandari briefed the gathering about ongoing preparations and enhancements made in pilgrim facilities this year, assuring that all necessary arrangements are being streamlined for a safe and smooth yatra experience.
The meeting concluded with a clear directive from the Lieutenant Governor: all agencies must work in unison and maintain a high level of alertness throughout the yatra period to safeguard every pilgrim.
