Statehood for J&K Will Be Restored at Right Time: Ashok Koul

Date:

Srinagar, June 23 : Amid growing calls for the restoration of Jammu and Kashmir’s statehood, BJP General Secretary (Organisation) Ashok Koul reiterated the Centre’s commitment to the cause, assuring it will happen at an “appropriate time” as promised by PM Modi and HM Amit Shah.

Talking to media said the timing will follow the Centre’s roadmap. He also ruled out early elections, stating they will only take place if the current assembly is dissolved.

On the issue of water supply to Punjab, Koul stressed that Jammu is facing a severe water crisis and should be prioritized. “Punjab has enough rivers. Our concern should be the people of Jammu,” he said.

Addressing concerns about the LG’s return of a business rules file, Koul emphasized the need for legal clarity in all proposals. He also reassured the public that Indian students in conflict-hit Iran will be brought home safely.

Earlier, Koul paid homage to Syama Prasad Mookerjee on his death anniversary, praising his role in upholding national unity, he added.
