In an impressive victory for public safety and drug enforcement, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has successfully dismantled India’s most notorious darknet drug syndicate, known as “Ketamelon,” in operation MELON. This pivotal operation has resulted in the seizure of a staggering array of drugs, including 1,127 LSD blots and 131.66 grams of Ketamine, along with cryptocurrency assets valued at over ₹70 lakhs—totaling more than ₹1 crore in seized illicit goods! 💰
After weeks of thorough surveillance and intelligence gathering, the NCB intercepted parcels containing 280 LSD blots in Cochin. Further investigations revealed an additional stash of 847 LSD blots and Ketamine during a subsequent search. The operation not only highlights the NCB’s relentless dedication to tackling drug trafficking but also marks a significant blow to a syndicate linked to a worldwide network of illicit drug distribution.
“Ketamelon” was classified as a Level 4 vendor, a top-tier status in India, and had a vast delivery network reaching major cities like Bangalore, Chennai, and Delhi. With approximately 600 shipments recorded over the past 14 months, this operation closes a crucial chapter in the fight against synthetic drugs.
As the NCB continues its vigilance, it calls upon citizens to join the battle against drugs. Any information regarding narcotics can be reported anonymously at MANAS—National Narcotics Helpline Toll Free Number 1933.
