Reviews final arrangements at Jammu base camp, to flag off Yatra today

JAMMU, July 01: As the holy Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra-2025 gears up to begin, Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha today visited Yatri Niwas at Bhagwati Nagar in Jammu to review the final arrangements for the annual pilgrimage and interact with the devotees preparing to embark on the spiritual journey.
During his visit, the Lieutenant Governor conducted a thorough inspection of facilities at the base camp, ensuring that all necessary services are in place for the comfort and safety of the pilgrims. He took stock of food and lodging facilities, registration counters, round-the-clock power and water supply, sanitation, medical care, transportation, help desks, and emergency response mechanisms. The LG emphasized that all departments must maintain seamless coordination to ensure a smooth yatra experience.
At the Yatri Niwas, LG Sinha met with pilgrims from different parts of the country and extended his heartfelt wishes. “The Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra is not just a pilgrimage; it is a serene, enlightening, and lifelong experience,” the Lieutenant Governor said. “I pray that the devotees’ journey to Baba Barfani’s sacred cave is filled with peace, joy, and spiritual fulfillment.”
Addressing media persons, LG Sinha said that the administration has worked meticulously to strengthen the infrastructure and logistics this year. “A large number of pilgrims have already arrived, and we are fully prepared. Enhanced arrangements have been put in place keeping in mind every possible requirement of the yatris,” he noted.
He further called upon the citizens of Jammu and Kashmir to uphold the rich traditions of hospitality and communal harmony that the region is known for. “We must carry forward the spiritual legacy and cultural warmth of our land. It is our collective responsibility to make this Yatra a grand success,” LG Sinha added.
The 38-day-long Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra will officially commence from both Pahalgam and Baltal routes on July 3, 2025, and will culminate on August 9, 2025. Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha will ceremonially flag off the first batch of pilgrims from Yatri Niwas, Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu, on the morning of July 2.
The Lieutenant Governor was accompanied by Director General of Police Shri Nalin Prabhat; ADG CRPF Shri Rajesh Kumar; Divisional Commissioner Jammu Shri Ramesh Kumar; IGP Jammu Shri Bhim Sen Tuti; Deputy Commissioner Jammu Shri Sachin Kumar Vaishya; and other senior officials from civil and security departments. The team assured that every measure is in place for the comfort, safety, and spiritual journey of the pilgrims.
With the Yatra set to begin, Jammu has once again transformed into a vibrant gateway for lakhs of devotees seeking the divine blessings of Lord Shiva at the sacred Amarnath cave shrine nestled in the Himalayas.
