New Delhi, July 28 : Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday said India successfully repelled all attacks by Pakistan during the recent hostilities and launched precise strikes under Operation Sindoor, targeting terrorist camps across the border without any loss to major Indian military assets.
Addressing the Lok Sabha, the Defence Minister said, “Our defence systems and electronic equipment completely foiled Pakistan’s attacks. No major asset was harmed. I salute our armed forces who crushed every plan of the enemy.”
Singh revealed that nine terrorist infrastructure sites in Pakistan were struck in the operation, targeting over 100 terrorists, their handlers, and trainers.
Giving details of the military action, Singh said Pakistan began attacks on May 7 using drones, long-range missiles, and electronic warfare. In response, India hit back on May 8 with precision-guided missiles aimed at Pakistani air defence systems and sensor networks.
On May 10, Pakistan attempted to hit Indian air force bases and military camps, but all attacks were intercepted, the minister said. “Our forces on the western front responded strongly, targeting Pakistani air bases and military infrastructure in Chaklala, Sargodha, Rafiqui, Rahim Yaar Khan, Jacobabad, Sukkur, and Bhalari,” he said.
Rajnath Singh added that the entire Operation Sindoor was completed within just 22 minutes, after an “in-depth study” by the armed forces to avoid civilian casualties while inflicting maximum damage to terrorist infrastructure.
He urged Opposition MPs to acknowledge the efforts of the armed forces and said, “At least now, applaud our forces for their bravery.”
The Lok Sabha discussion on Operation Sindoor, scheduled for over 16 hours, was delayed due to repeated adjournments following protests by Opposition members. (KNS)
