Expresses Gratitude to Security Forces for Successful “Operation Mahadev,” Neutralizing Pahalgam Attack Perpetrators

Baramulla, July 29: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha lauded the Indian Army for its unwavering dedication, stating that its efforts extend beyond safeguarding the nation’s unity and integrity to actively preserving Kashmir’s vibrant cultural heritage and fostering the aspirations of its youth.
Speaking at Kashur Riwaaj 2025, a grand celebration of Kashmir’s rich culture in Baramulla, LG Sinha emphasized that unity in diversity remains the cornerstone of India’s ethos. “The Indian Army has consistently harnessed this strength for societal progress, creating opportunities for youth to strengthen national unity through literature, music, art, and sports,”he said, as per Kashmir Despatch
The Lieutenant Governor expressed the nation’s gratitude to the Army, paramilitary forces, and Jammu & Kashmir Police for the successful execution of Operation Mahadev, which led to the elimination of three Pakistani terrorists involved in the heinous April 22 Pahalgam attack. The operation was conducted in the Dachigam forest area.
“There are disturbing elements in society who attempt to justify terrorism and the killing of innocents, holding the dreams of lakhs of youth hostage. Such individuals must be unmasked,” LG Sinha asserted.
He further called upon the younger generation to join the fight against the drug menace and help rehabilitate those who have fallen victim to addiction.
“The hopes and dreams of our youth can only thrive in a peaceful environment. For years, Pakistan-backed terrorism and separatism robbed Jammu & Kashmir of progress and stifled aspirations. Today, the region is rapidly moving forward,” the Lieutenant Governor added.
Operation Mahadev: Key Details
Three terrorists were neutralized in Srinagar’s Lidwas area during Operation Mahadev on Tuesday. Among them was Suleiman Shah, a Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) commander and former Pakistan Army personnel, also known as Hashim Moosa. Shah was one of the masterminds behind the April 22 Pahalgam attack, which claimed 26 civilian lives. The Jammu & Kashmir Police had announced a ₹20 lakh reward for information leading to his capture.
PM Modi Praises Amit Shah’s Lok Sabha Address
Prime Minister Narendra Modi commended Union Home Minister Amit Shah for his detailed speech in the Lok Sabha on Operations Mahadev and Sindoor.
In a post on X, PM Modi stated, “Home Minister Amit Shah Ji’s remarkable speech in the Lok Sabha highlighted crucial details about Operation Sindoor and Operation Mahadev, which played a pivotal role in eliminating cowardly terrorists. His address also underscored our government’s unwavering commitment to national security.”
During his hour-long address, Shah confirmed that LeT commander Suleiman, along with two other A-category terrorists—Afghan and Jibran—were eliminated in the joint operation by the Indian Army, CRPF, and J&K Police. “All three terrorists responsible for the brutal attack in Baisaran valley have been brought to justice,” Shah declared.
