Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science & Technology, Earth Sciences, MoS PMO,
Personnel, Public Grievances, Dept. of Atomic Energy and Space, Dr. Jitendra Singh, today chaired a
high-participation preparatory meeting via video conferencing with BJP District Presidents, MLAs
and DDC Chairpersons of the Udhampur-Kathua-Doda Lok Sabha constituency to review the
upcoming party programmes on the eve of the Independence Day and for the next few weeks.
Dr. Jitendra Singh outlined a detailed roadmap for the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign and Har Ghar
Tiranga Yatra, scheduled from August 2 to August 15, 2025. He informed participants that, to build
momentum, he had already flagged off one Tiranga Yatra in Udhampur yesterday, and will also
participate a motorbike rally tomorrow in New Delhi, while he will lead a Tiranga Yatra in Kathua on
the 13th of August.
Dr Jitendra Singh also urged party functionaries, youth wings, and citizens to celebrate Independence
Day with full patriotic fervour, ensuring that no house in the constituency is left without the Tricolour
fluttering proudly.
Describing the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign as a people’s festival of unity, reminding everyone that
the national flag is a living symbol of India’s freedom struggle, integrity, and pride, Dr Jitendra Singh motivated BJP workers and youth volunteers to reach every home, inspire every citizen, and make the
celebrations truly inclusive.
Looking ahead, the Minister briefed participants about the upcoming National Sports Day
celebrations, to be observed from August 29, 2025, in honour of India’s hockey legend Major Dhyan
Chand. The celebrations will commence with the registration of potential sportspersons and will
include a variety of sporting events to encourage youth participation and promote a culture of fitness.
He highlighted that this extended celebration will continue until October 2, coinciding with Gandhi
Jayanti, thereby linking sports promotion with national values.
Dr. Jitendra Singh urged leaders at all levels to integrate the spirit of patriotism and sportsmanship in
these events, turning the coming weeks into a grand celebration of India’s unity, youth power, and
cultural pride.
The meeting, marked by enthusiastic participation from across the constituency, concluded with a
collective resolve to make both the Independence Day festivities and National Sports Day
celebrations resounding successes.
