Bandipora, Nov 04: The high altitude valley of Gurez in Bandipora district on Tuesday evening received a fresh snowfall of 2-3 inches.
Local resident Nazir Ahmad who spoke Kashmir Despatch on phone call said that around 2-3 inches of snowfall has accumulated in less than an hour.
Earlier the Metrological department in an advisory said that the plains across Kashmir valley may receive light rains from Tuesday evening while upper reaches in several parts may receive light snowfall.
Pertinent to mention Gurez valley remains closed for several months every year due to heavy snowfall which led to road closure of its only road connectivity.
According to the officials, light snowfall has been recorded on Razdan pass along with other higher reaches of Gurez valley.
However, no advisory has been issued about the road closure yet by the district administration.
Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Indu Kanwal while speaking with the Kashmir Despatch said that all essential stock have been dumped few weeks ago and administration is ready to tackle any challenge.
