One millitant killed in Awantipora, operation underway

Srinagar, December 22:(GNS) One militant has been killed in ongoing encounter which broke out between militants and goverment forces in Arampora area of Awantipora of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

Reports reaching GNS said that a joint team of army’s 42RR, 180 BN CRPF and SOG Awantipora launched cordon and search operation in Arampora after having credible input about presence of some militants in the area.

As soon joint team of forces intensified searches towards suspected spot the hiding militants fired upon goverment forces triggering an encounter.

As per the sources one militant has been killed and one more is fighting and both militants are believed to be members of Zakir Musa led group Ansar ul Gazwat ul Hind. As this report was filed intermittent firing was going on.(GNS)
