Srinagar, Dec 6: Authorities at Kashmir University have issued an advisory to students following confirmed movement of a bear in and around the Naseem Bagh campus, asking them to strictly avoid venturing out during nocturnal hours and refrain from using the Naseem Bagh route until the animal is captured.
Chief Proctor of Kashmir University, Professor Imtiyaz, confirmed the development and said bear movement has been reported in and around the university campus for the last few days. He said students have been clearly instructed to stop walking through the Naseem Bagh area, particularly during night hours, to avoid any untoward incident.
Professor Imtiyaz said many students prefer studying late at night at the Iqbal Library and usually pass through the Naseem Bagh campus while returning to hostels. “Students have been advised not to take the Naseem Bagh route till the bear is captured. Their safety is our priority,” he said.
Prof. Imtiyaz said the advisory has been issued as a precautionary measure amid continued sighting and movement of the bear near the campus. Students have been urged to remain vigilant and cooperate with the administration by following the safety instructions. [KNT]
