Srinagar, Dec 10: The High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh on Wednesday announced a 15-day winter vacation for all district courts in Kashmir and select courts in the Jammu division, along with courts functioning across the Union Territory of Ladakh.
As per a notification issued by Registrar General M.K. Sharma, the winter break will be observed from January 1 to January 15, 2026 (both days inclusive).
The order specifies that the vacation will apply to all District Courts in Kashmir Province, as well as courts in District Kishtwar, District Doda, and those located at Batote, Gool, Banihal, and Ukhral in District Ramban, in addition to the court at Bani in District Kathua. All courts in the UT of Ladakh will also remain closed during this period.
The High Court has instructed Principal District & Sessions Judges and Chief Judicial Magistrates of the concerned districts to make suitable arrangements for handling urgent criminal matters throughout the vacation to ensure uninterrupted judicial support where necessary.(KINS)
