Jammu, Jan 1: Mission Director, NHM J&K, Baseer Ul Haq Chaudhary, today chaired a meeting focused on reviewing preparations for the Union Territory’s (UT) Programme Implementation Plan (PIP) under the National Health Mission for the Financial Year 2026-27 at State Health Society Nagrota Jammu.
This annual PIP exercise is pivotal for securing central funding and tailoring interventions to local needs, with a focus on efficient resource allocation to bridge urban-rural health disparities amid J&K’s unique geographical and administrative challenges.
Discussions centered on streamlining funds, enhancing public health delivery, and reviewing progress on key initiatives, including the National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme (NTEP), Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs), Quality Assurance (NQAS), Maternal & Child Health, Drugs & Vaccine Management (DVDMS), Comprehensive Primary Health Care (CPHC) etc.
The MD emphasized coordinated synergy between district and state levels, advocating data-driven strategies sourced from platforms such as Nikshay, RCH Portal 2.0, and HMIS. He directed officials to proactively address executional hurdles, including logistical challenges in remote terrains and human resource gaps, to build a sustainable health system that ensures universal access to affordable, quality healthcare—particularly in rural and aspirational districts of J&K.
The MD called for meticulous PIP formulation to optimize central allocations, strengthen supply chains, and accelerate progress toward national targets.
The meeting was attended by Yasir Latif Anbar, Director Planning, NHM J&K; Vaneet Singh Manhas, Financial Advisor & Chief Accounts Officer, SHS NHM J&K; along with Programme Managers and the State Monitoring & Evaluation Officer.
