Awantipora, Feb 04: The Centre for Good Governance and Policy Analysis (CGG&PA), Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) in coordination with the Office of the Registrar today inaugurated a Two-Day Capacity Building Programme at the Rumi Library Conference Room, aimed at enhancing administrative efficiency and institutional governance.
The inaugural session was chaired by the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, IUST, *Prof. Dr. Shakeel Ramshoo*, who stressed the importance of administrative competence in modern institutions.
> *“For maintaining accountability, transparency and sustainable institutional growth, a sound understanding of rules, regulations and effective use of technology has become the need of the hour,”* the Vice-Chancellor remarked.
Addressing the gathering of Deans, Officers and Heads of Departments, the Registrar, IUST, *Professor Wahid Makhdoomi* highlighted that continuous capacity building plays a vital role in achieving improved service delivery and better administrative outcomes.
During the welcome address, *Dr. G. N. Itoo, Director CGG&PA*, underscored the broader vision of the initiative.
> *“This programme is part of a sustained effort to strengthen administrative capacity at IUST. CGG&PA will continue to organize thematic capacity-building sessions to support efficient, rule-based, and technology-driven governance,”* he said.
The programme, scheduled for February 4 and 5, 2026, focuses on administrative rules, financial procedures and digital governance tools. The first day featured expert sessions on managerial skills, secretariat procedures, and e-Office implementation, while the second day will focus on financial rules, treasury procedures and e-Procurement (GeM).
