Ganderbal, Mar 17: A spiritually uplifting gathering was witnessed at Jamia Masjid Wayil in Ganderbal during the blessed month of Ramadan as a Dastar Bandi ceremony was held in honour of Mufti Umer Qasim after he successfully completed the recitation of the entire Holy Qur’an.
The Dastarbandi was performed by Hazrat Mufti Ajaz-ul-Haq in the presence of members of the Intizamia Committee of Masjid Sharif Wayil and a large gathering of devotees.
The ceremony marked a moment of pride, joy and devotion as prayers and blessings were offered for the young scholar on this remarkable religious achievement.
Dastar Bandi is a revered Islamic tradition in which a turban is ceremonially tied as a mark of honour and recognition for religious accomplishment, particularly the completion or memorisation of the Holy Qur’an. The tradition symbolises respect, responsibility and the continuation of Islamic scholarship.
On the occasion, the gathering prayed that Allah bless Mufti Umer Qasim with knowledge, wisdom, and steadfastness in serving the Ummah and inspire many more youth to strengthen their bond with the Holy Qur’an.
